I’m writing to you atop a toasty heating pad with a fuzzy purring cat snuggled into my lap. I’m relishing in the coziness here as we braved a dreadfully cold and soggy afternoon in the field harvesting. Although dreary now, we were fortunate to really take in and savor these last few days of beautiful fall weather surrounded by visiting family, among the colorful trees, filled up with tasty home cooked meals, and around the crackling fire. We’re fortunate to be slowing down and to have this time to share with the ones we love.
While we were away, the veggies kept on growing and are coming at you this week with a big green bang! With a very cold snap coming towards us at the end of the week, we are preparing to bid our remaining tender greens goodbye and so, are stocking you all up with a fresh abundance, and here’s what she looks like!
- Salad Mix
- Herb Choice
- Salad Turnips
- Winter Squash
MORE TO COME
While there is plenty to enjoy this week – I couldn’t help but get excited and pluck a few winter delights from the ground on our field walk this morning and was elated to see the beauty before my eyes!
Just a reminder that the final regular CSA week will be next – the same as the election…Don’t forget to vote!!!!
The final CSA pick-up will be the Saturday before Thanksgiving – November 21st for all members!
- 10-12 on farm in Gardiner
- 2-4 at Hudson Valley Brewery for Beacon/Garrison folks
As the end of the season approaches, we’ve had lots of inquiries about veggies for next season. While I cannot make any promises …we are working on getting some farmer friends from Second Wind past to fill our void with a temporary drop off in the Gardiner area for next season. Stay tuned for any progress here in the weeks to come. Nourishing you all means so much to us – even if we can’t be the ones growing it.
Sending you all lots of love!
