CSA Week 19: Generous Fruits!

Greetings all!

I am so sorry to be late on this post this week. Time simply has gotten away from me this week as we have been harvesting, turning over beds, and fighting to keep row cover on and dirt out of our eyes in the wild wind we dealt with over the weekend!

Here’s what’s coming your way this week!

  • Spinach
  • Salad Mix
  • Lettuce Head
  • Kale or Mustard Greens
  • Kohlrabi
  • Carrots
  • Salad Turnips
  • Bok Choy
  • Herb choice
  • Peppers (last of!)
  • Garlic
  • Onions

CRISP SWEET SURPRISE

You will all have the amazing opportunity to grab a few delicious local apples at this week’s pick-up! Our friends, neighbors, and your fellow members Jinny and Joe from down the road at Once Munsee Orchard have gifted us some juicy Aztec Fuji apples they’re excited to share with you all. While not organic, they are hyper local and minimally sprayed!

THE BIG QUESTION

I have been getting this question a lot and have been meaning to stick it in the blog for weeks now – big apologies! Many have asked how long the CSA runs. Our current plan is to run regularly through the first week of November (this will be week 22!) – this is of course tentative based on how the weather holds up/frost holds out. We then we take a small break through the middle of November and we’ll host our last pick-up on the weekend before Thanksgiving. I’m not sure what this will look like yet but we will likely consolidate the Beacon/Garrison pick-up at our Beacon drop-off so that we can see you all one last time before we close the season. It might be Gardiner on Saturday, Garrison/Beacon on Sunday or Gardiner Sat. AM Beacon/Garrison Sat. afternoon….we will fill you in as we nail down the plan!

Thanks for being here!
