CSA Week 12: Half-way point

Half-share Group B this week!

Hey there folks!

As you might guess – this week marks our half way point through this very fruitful and speedy season. It only makes sense that here at the half way we’re met with peak tomatoes. Bring some extra bags and get ready to make some sauce and salads this week because you’re taking home a real big haul of those beautiful red (and yellow and pink) fruits 🙂 Here’s what else you can count on:

  • Lettuce Mix
  • Parsley
  • Beans
  • Mustard Greens/Yukina
  • Basil
  • Kale
  • Tomatoes (10 whoppin lbs.)
  • Eggplant
  • Cucumbers
  • Summer Squash

This week is special, not only because it is peak tomato season but this week wraps up my 28th year of life! It’s on to 29 and I am so ready to make this final year of my 20’s something to remember. Being from the Mid-west it’s easy for me to often feel like I’m ‘falling behind’ or a late bloomer’ in this life as I see many friends getting married, having babies, and buying homes. But when I take a beat to slow down and look at my life’s path I feel so grateful for where I have been (emotionally, mentally, and geographically) and where that has lead me on this journey: here, with you all, running this little farm with my two best dudes, working with this amazing soil, learning so many micro-lessons each moment and – getting closer to the big dream everyday without wishing the time away. Having respect for the natural pace of life isn’t something I’ve always been great at but I find in honoring it we see more opportunities for gratitude and reflection – making each day more whole and each moment more meaningful. I am proud of where I stand at the end of 28 and I can’t wait to see what 29 has in store.

Thanks for being here- and tomatoes ahoy y’all!

❤ SAL

P.S. Being the half-way point I will be sending out reminders to folks with any balances remaining on their shares!
