Hi all, Alli here.
Yep, weedin’ in the rain (or in the hot, hot sun)…that’s what we’ve been up to this week! We’re trying to do some major catching up with some out of control weeds. So whether it’s been scorching heat or pouring rain, we’ve been out there filling up bucket after bucket.
We were really grateful to have my boyfriend lending an extra hand for a few days. He spent his 4th of July getting soaked from head to toe pulling out weeds and old radishes. (I’m pretty sure he was thinking how lucky he is to have a farmer girlfriend to visit on his days off from work.) And Alison’s mom and sister are coming from Texas this weekend to spend about a week helping us out. It’s really amazing what a difference some extra pairs of hands make, and we’re so happy to have such wonderful company in the field!

With a few new items ready to harvest, here’s what I think will be in your shares this week:
*Carrots
*Cucumbers
*Summer Squash
*Dill
*Peas
*Beans
*Lettuce
*Beets
*Arugula
…and some other greens, I’m sure!

If you are looking for something different to cook this week (with your beets), why not try this pizza? http://ohmyveggies.com/beet-green-pesto-pizza-with-roasted-beets-goat-cheese This is a recipe from one of my favorite food bloggers. In fact, if you are looking for ideas about what to make with ANY of your veggies, her blog, http://dishingupthedirt.com, is an amazing resource! The woman who writes it is a farmer who makes incredibly creative and tasty meals, and I haven’t been disappointed by anything I’ve tried from her site!
Enjoy!

Hi there, We’re back from vacation and have some of the veggies our neighbors picked up for us BUT I’m having a tough time identifying one of them 😉 Can you ‘name that vegetable’ for me? (Photo attached) Thanks! Diana[image.jpeg]

Hi Diana,
Oh no, I can’t see the picture! 😦 Maybe try to send it to us in an email so we can identify it for you. Hope your vacation went well!
